Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is surgical operations performed on large breasts that caused problems in terms of health and aesthetics. Breasts larger than normal cause many postural disorders such as the back pain. One gets tired quickly and sweat accumulated under the breast lead to skin problems. The breast reduction surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. Fat tissues in the breast and excess skin out of breast are removed. The breast reduction surgery can be applied together with breast uplift surgery. Considering the size of breasts, personal and special techniques are applied.

The treatment process is started considering the age of patient, the size of breasts, expectation of having a child and breastfeeding situation. The operation lasts an average of one hour. It is aimed to complete the surgery with a minimum scar. The patient is explained how to take care of her breasts in detail. The breast reduction surgery does not pose an obstacle to breastfeeding.

Complications such as swelling, bleeding and displacement of implant can be avoided with the sports bra which is used immediately after the breast augmentation surgery. Processed regions are covered with special bands and the recovery period is accelerated. It is recommended to support the breast with bra for a period of 2 months after the operation. Silicone systems called drains can be placed in the surgical area to prevent fluid and blood collection under the skin. It is removed in the early period.

Breast size is reduced and nipple is positioned at upper level as it should be. Scars remain around the nipple, in the form of a straight line descending from this area and hidden under the breast fold. These scars disappear over the time in the original colour of the skin.
